The past decade......what's happened

Well what will we be up to in the last couple of days of 2009, thus the decade! Hasn't the past 10 years gone quick, what has happened in 10 years:

1. 2 kids, Tim now 3 & Half and Ben 8 months old today
2. Got back together with Mark & still going strong (never a dull moment!)
3. BFF Julie got married! finally!!! :D
4. Started my 30's! now heading to the late part of those!!
5. Celebrated my parents 30th Anniversary this year
6. Youngest sister Zoe got engaged
7. 2 of my cousins have had children and settled down
8. Nana was 80 this past decade
9. Lost my beloved Grandad, miss you loads even 6 years down the line, had a 'moment' twice on Christmas Day. Once watching one of your fav films White Christmas and the other watching James May's Toy Stories which was made in Barnstaple when he tried to make a model railway go from Barnstaple to Bideford along the Tarka trail......you would have loved to have taken part in that or at least watched it being built
10. The invention of the Iphone! well mobile phones have certainly come along way in 10 years
11. Horrendous events such as 9/11, Tsuami, Hurricane Katrina, Afghanistan, train crash on the Reading to Paddington train, July 8th bombs in London.......things that we can control i.e. people just being plain nasty taking lives when not necessary and things we can't i.e. the weather
12. America getting their first black President.....Martin Luther King Jr would have stood up proud on that day....I know I would have voted for Obama if I lived there
13. Graham & Donna moved to New Zealand & Dani was born......so far my only niece, but she is soooo far away!
14. All of us becoming more eco-friendly trying to stop Climate Change but is it going to be too little too late? who knows
15. The loss of Princess Diana.....an event that stunned the world & then this year another one! Michael Jackson's death! also as shocking
16. I discovered Scrapbooking!!!! my favourite obsession!! (well that's what Mark would call it!)
17. Digital Cameras....I wouldn't be without mine I love it!
18. Meeting new friends....Mandy, Lorraine, Bridget, Faye K, Sharon H, Michelle M, Clarissa just to name a few
19. The invention of Facebook, love it as caught up with some old friends as well as new...also hate it as Mark is always on it!
20. Celebrating 14 years of marriage at the end of this month....that has gone soo quick

Happy 8 Month Birthday Ben xx

Wow, it has been 8 months already since the arrival of our little one Ben. I can't believe it has gone this quickly.

So where are we in his 8 months, he has got 7 teeth already! 4 on top 3 on the bottom, he said his first words on 20th December (whoops! forgot to blog that milestone!) Dada! why it is always Dada first :( He is also running around in the baby walker now, but not really bothered about crawling or walking yet as he can get about without doing that yet, but I am not in any rush as have had 2 who walked at 8 months!

We also had a White Christmas so that is something to add to his scrap album for when he is bigger, that his First Christmas was a white one! lucky him.

Belated Merry Christmas

Hi all, well it's the 27th December already! where has this year gone!

Our little one turns 8 months old on the 29th! he had a lovely first Christmas enjoying eating all the wrapping papers! and ripping them open!

Tim loved his 4th Christmas and was sooo exicted being a 3 & half year old. He got loads of toys which is loved but I think his favourite present was the VTech Camera that Santa bought him as he hasn't stopped taking pictures, a scrapbooker in the making me thinks! :D

Christmas dinner went without a hitch which is always good and a great success as we were all stuffed and didn't manage to make it to a pudding! We have been rather lazy the past couple of days and so now the washing pile looks like Mount Everest! so today it is back to being a Mum and making sure that the house is tidy and that the washing has been done.

My favourite presents this year were Wolverine DVD (Yummy Hugh Jackman!), Tim Holtz merchandise to do the 12 Tags of Christmas and the troll bead from Mark and the boys which is a lilac colour with white flowers.

Before I forget I must say a huge thanks to everyone for all your Christmas cards and presents that you have sent the family. xx

Oh yes and if you get the chance go and see the new film Avatar, we took the kids on Christmas Eve and it had really amazing effects and more importantly the kids loved it

Nearly here

Well I can't believe that next week is Christmas! I wonder where this year has gone, but to be honest I will be glad it's over. It's been more downs than up.

Here are the ups:
1. BFF Julie finally walking down th aisle
2. Ben was born
3. Nephew Noah was born
4. Sam started secondary school
5. Tim started Pre-school

However there are lots of downs too many to list :(

Well here is to the next year being much better!!!

I have to say that on 30th December I celebrate my 14th Wedding Anniversary! I can't believe I have been married for 14 years, it has gone sooo quick! We are looking to re-take our wedding vows at some point, hopefully next year, but we will see

The Good, the bad & the Ugly

I had the best time on Tuesday 8th Dec at the O2 arena with my sisters' & Sam when we went to see Pink in concert. I was really surprised at the seats as we didn't think they would be so good. We were only 20 feet from the stage! I managed to get some fantastic photos & will upload a couple for all to see. I now can't wait til next June for Bon Jovi as the seats are pretty much the same just over the other side! Yum!

We are now nearly into the middle of December & I can't believe this year has gone so fast. Ben is already 7 months old which is amazing really he is doing new things every day. Tomorrow we are going to Tim's (our 3 & half year olds) first nativity play so as you can imagine we are very excited. He is playing a shepherd. We have the camera at the ready.

The bad at the moment is that I have been battling a migraine headache for the past couple of days which is a nightmare as can't take the usual medication as am still feeding Ben myself, so having to put up with it, but I think after a soak in a lovely bath & some decent sleep it should go.

The Ugly is that our eldest is needing to find a new school due to some issues we have where he was. I hope that we can sort things our & that is will be better in the next school.

Sleeping with little one

It's Friday night 10pm ish and I am writing this whilst giving Ben a cuddle, then will be sleeping sat upright this evening with him as he is struggling to breathe properly even with some olbas oil on his babygro. I have to say that with those of us with kids, the hardest part is when they get sick as all you want to do is take whatever illness away from them so they will get better.

My thoughts this evening and leading up to Christmas is with those who have lost loved ones this year and who are in hospital with loved ones who are sick. My thoughts are also with the families of our service personnel who will be spending another Christmas without them. I remember that feeling from when both myself and hubby were in the services.

Sleep

Here we are again in the 'lack of sleep' department. Ben is teething at the min & poor Tim is getting nightmares at night so he has been getting up at 3am! I need a holiday!!

I am looking forward to this weekend as am cropping with my girlfriends at the Scrapcafe in Reading. It's the last one of 2009!

Also, I am so excited as my baby sister (who is 26!) is getting married next year & she has asked me to be a bridesmaid! I am so flattered & have been making her a Wedding Planner, very simple as she is not a fussy kind of girl. I will blog the pics once I have finished.

Hope you all have a great weekend
